Specialty coffee and modern craft beer, minus the pretension. Just off Whiteladies Road.

An independent specialty coffee shop, craft beer retailer & tap room. Pouring on Cotham Hill since July 2017.

We source from some of the best roasters in the UK and choose our beer suppliers very carefully. Then we help you find the one you'll love, with friendly service and zero pretension.

On the bar

The coffee

New coffees on espresso and filter every week, from some of the best roasters in the UK and occasionally beyond.

We pick from the leading names so we can show you the different flavours and profiles specialty coffee has to offer. Square Mile has been on our bar for nearly the whole time we’ve been open, alongside a rotating cast of guests. Liked what you drank? Take a bag home.

Our approach

We have the knowledge and skill to produce the best of the best, but we don't throw that in your face.

The worlds of specialty coffee and craft beer can sometimes lean towards being pretentious. Our goal is to make them easy to understand, with a friendly helping hand.

We want you to feel comfortable in the space, and to feel our passion for what we serve.

The idea came to owner Dan Williams while travelling in New Zealand, where specialty coffee and craft beer under one roof is nothing unusual. Back in the UK he found a spot at the bottom of Cotham Hill, spent three months building the shop, and opened the doors on 3 July 2017. “This is my dream set-up,” he told Bristol24/7 that week.

“Nine years ago today we opened… To celebrate I made myself a coffee and then got Johnny to make me another one.”
